St. Louis is a great kid-friendly city. With plenty of free events, museums to visit, and other fun attractions, it’s easy to plan a fun day with your family without leaving the city. Here are some of the best ways to have fun with the whole family in St. Louis:
1. Spend the day in Forest Park
Located in the heart of St. Louis, this park is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. At 1,371 acres, Forest Park is larger than Central Park in NY. Whether you’re interested in a walk or picnic in the green spaces or attending a festival, there are endless ways to enjoy it on a sunny day. Rainy days in Forest Park offer just as much fun as well. If the weather isn’t great, check out the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, or the St. Louis Zoo. You’ll also find The Muny, the biggest and oldest outdoor musical theatre in America, located within the park.

2. Check out Fitz’s Root Beer
The next spot on your list is Fitz’s, a restaurant and root beer factory where you and your kids can watch soda brewing and bottling firsthand. The restaurant is primarily known for their massive floats. They have everything from your traditional root beer float to a S’mores float made with their Draft Cream Soda topped with chocolate ice cream, marshmallow Fluff, Hershey’s chocolate sauce, graham crackers, and finished off with whipped cream. Beware, these floats are enough to share between two. They have something to suit any sweet tooth, with classic Malts and Orange Freezee’s as well. If you came hungry, they have a full menu of American specialties with a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and wraps. They even offer a gluten-free menu for those with dietary restrictions. Their Fitz’s Root Beer is still made according to their original 1947 recipe developed in St. Louis, made with natural roots, spices, barks, and pure cane sugar. Make an afternoon of your visit and spend some time playing arcade games and pool.

3. Visit The Magic House
The Magic House: St. Louis Children’s Museum is an engaging and interactive museum in St. Louis that’s perfect for your younger kids. It’s filled with hundreds of hands-on exhibits that are both creative and educational. They’re committed to promoting important 21st-century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, so you can feel good about your time spent here with your kids. This museum was the first totally participatory museum in the area designed especially for kids, and it continues the legacy with experimental exhibits and programs today. They host monthly Emerson Free Family Nights where families can enjoy a free night of interactive fun and learning. Their next family night is April 20th from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Another free event they host is their St. Louis Children’s Hospital Fit Kid event, held for kids 12 and under on the first Friday each month. They also host regular events, like their upcoming Fairy Tale Tea event on Saturday and Sunday, April 21st and 22nd 2018

4. Rockin’ Jump Shrewsbury
Even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, there are plenty of ways to get active as a family in St. Louis. One great indoor spot to visit is Rockin’ Jump Shrewsbury, a trampoline park that includes obstacle courses, trampoline dodgeball, and even blacklight glow jump events. Located in Shrewsbury, a suburb of St. Louis, Rockin’ Jump is just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis. They take safety seriously and require visitors to fill out waivers which can be filled out online ahead of time. If you and your family want to get some energy out, head over to Rockin’ Jump.
