This month, St. Louis is buzzing with festive events to get ready for the holidays. Whether you still have some names to check off your holiday shopping list, or you’re looking for an event to celebrate with the whole family, there’s something out there for everyone. Here are some of the most exciting events happening in the city this month:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve"

When: Thursday, Dec 6, 2018 | 7:30PM

Where: Enterprise Center

 

Fans of Trans-Siberian Orchestra rejoice this season in St. Louis. You can catch them on tour this Thursday night at the Enterprise Center. Their “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve: The Best of TSO and More” tour is sure to be a fan-pleaser. They’ll be playing hits like "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" and "This Christmas Day." They’ll also play a second set of fan favorites with staging effects to create a feast for the senses.

 

Get Looped - First Fridays

When: Friday, Dec 7, 2018 | 5:00 - 9:00PM

Where: Delmar Loop

 

Up and down the Delmar Blvd this coming Friday, visitors can spend the evening taking advantage of extended hours and shopping deals in the various shops and galleries. If you’re opting to shop local and pick up some one-of-a-kind gifts, you won’t want to miss this event. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the Loop, some participating in special dining deals, so you can easily make a night of your visit. You can also choose to catch a show at the Tivoli Theater or enjoy bowling and live music.

 

Urban Chestnut's WinterMarkt

When: Saturday, Dec 8 and 15, 2018 | 12:00PM - 4:00PM

Where: Urban Chestnut Brewing Company

 

If you missed their event on December 1st, you have two more chances to attend this local market held at Urban Chestnut’s Midtown Brewery & Biergarten. On December 8th and 15th, they’ll be hosting a midday traditional European/German market. It’s a family-friendly event where you can sip on beer specials and hot chocolate, munch on foods like Borscht and pretzels, and, of course, shop from plenty of local makers and vendors. They’ll have fire pits and live music by Larry Hallar to accompany your holiday shopping.

 

Winter Celebrations - Saint Louis Art Museum

When: Saturday & Sunday, Dec 8 - 9, 2018 | 10:00AM - 4:00PM

Where: Saint Louis Art Museum

 

One festive event to catch this coming weekend is the Winter Celebrations at the Saint           Louis Art Museum. They’re hosting a weekend festival including art activities like card-making, cookie decorating, and a photo booth. This family event will also include performances that celebrate traditions from around the world.

 

Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical

When: Thursday - Sunday, Dec 13-16, 2018

Where: Stifel Theatre

 

This fan-favorite musical is coming to St. Louis mid-month with plenty of opportunities to catch a show. This is its first year back in St. Louis since 2011, so take advantage of it while you can. You can still get tickets online for the musical that the New York Times praised to be “100 times better than any bedtime story”.

Compton Heights Concert Band's 20th Annual Holiday Pops Spectacular!

When: Saturday, Dec 22, 2018 | 2:00PM or 7:30PM gala

Where: The Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade

For a festive live performance to get you in the holiday spirit, check out this Holiday Pops Spectacular performed by Compton Heights Concert Band. It’s their 20th year performing this cheery holiday concert, with a talented 60-piece band that’s sure to knock your socks off. They’ll be performing a program of popular carols, sacred classics, and pops, and they’ll end with an audience sing-along finale of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. The evening gala show VIP tickets include plenty of extras to make the event special, including the best seats, a post-concert catered reception with a champagne toast, raffle tickets for valuable prizes, and a chance to meet the stars of the show.
